The Planet Protectors Squad

An exciting series of children’s books aimed at 8-year-olds to 12-year-olds.
The Planet Protectors Squad is a group of teenagers who work with scientists and climate change experts to provide rapid response to emergencies such as wildfires, floods, intense storms, heatwaves, and widespread habitat loss.
There are four main characters in the squad:

Matt – British, a 19-year-old studying climate change at a leading university in the UK, linked to a major university in the USA. Matt leads the squad and, through his network of climate change monitoring organisations and leading scientists, can call on support to tackle urgent disasters.
Tracey –French, 18 years old and about to start university to study Zoology in Montpellier and spend part of her course in an African game reserve. Tracy is passionate about wildlife and the conservation of many species now in decline.
Maria – Brazilian, 19 years old and studying marine biology at Rio de Janeiro University. An Olympic swimming medallist, she is dedicated to helping to protect all species of marine life. She has been on several field trips to oceans and reefs in Australia, Asia and the Indian Ocean.
Zhang Wei – Chinese, 18-year-old student at Peking University. Zhang Wei is the group’s IT expert and has access to many software programmes he can use to track trends over time and show where natural disasters may occur, so the Planet Protectors squad can respond quickly and with the right solutions.
All four have special powers they acquired through specially adapted technology, such as artificial limbs that give them extra strength and the ability to stay underwater for long periods while working on projects.
The squad is sponsored by several governments and scientific bodies. The stories in the series are exciting, action-packed, and give young readers a great story as well as educating them about climate change and showcasing some of the new technology that is helping to tackle global warming.
